Course Description:
This hands-on technical training gives users the ability to setup and install a
printer system with emphasis on optimal support and repair. This course is
designed for service technicians who will be responsible for the maintenance
and installation of Zebra printers. It has been divided up into several sections
based on printer models and topics. Throughout the course you will be
presented with “bugs” on your machine and asked to fix them. Succesfully completing this course will earn your Barcode Laber Printer Repair Professional Certification.Topics will include hardware identification, best practices for
installation, menu configuration, calibration, troubleshooting procedures,
maintenance procedures. Students will be working with the Xi4, 105SL Plus,
ZT400 Series, ZT200, and ZD410/420 Series printers during this three-day
training.

Course Objectives:
By the end of the course, you will be able to:   


Identify different media types.
Identify different print methods.
Identify uses for different ribbon types.
Identify the different communication options available on Zebra printers.
Perform three “power on tests”.
Load ribbon and media in the printer.
Calibrate the printer to the media and ribbon installed.
Identify the control panel buttons and understand their function.
Use the menu to configure the printer.
Identify the major components of the printer.
Identify the logic boards and main components located on them.
Remove and replace the print head.
Remove and replace the platen and feed rollers.
Perform print head adjustments to achieve correctly printed labels
Validate proper machine operation.


Requisite Knowledge:


Basic knowledge of thermal transfer printing.
Ability to work with basic hand tools to perform calibrations and replacement of parts.
